A 15-year-old schoolgirl has given birth to twins, fathered by her classmate boyfriend.

The babies were conceived when Samantha (Sammii) Humphries was 14, and her 
boyfriend Daniel Sargent was 15.

The news comes amid the uproar over Alfie Patten, who became a father at the age of 13 a fortnight ago.
Today Sammii and Daniel, both in their last year at Meols Cop High school in Southport, spoke about how they were coping since the boys were born three months prematurely.

The twins, Liam and Ryan, have both been in hospital since birth.

Sammii said: ‘We love our sons and we can’t wait to get them home.’  

The teenagers, who live with their respective parents in the town centre, say they are now looking forward to bringing up the twins, after four months of juggling schoolwork with visits to special care baby units.

Home for the twins will be with Sammii and her parents to start with, but the couple plan to get a house together later on and take care of their children like any other family.
he young couple have stressed how grateful they are to their families for all their support.

Sammii said she had no idea she was pregnant until she felt something move inside her and went to the family planning clinic.

That was when the year 11 pupil discovered she was about 22 weeks pregnant and learned there were concerns over the health of the babies.

Sammii described the moment she learned she was expecting and how the news was broken to her mother, Janet Gilbert.

She said: ‘I went to the clinic and I was very shocked and upset because I didn’t know how to tell my mum.’ 

As she sat in the clinic, staff called her mother who came down to be told the news.

Janet said: ‘I got a call from the family planning asking me to come down.’ 

Janet added: ‘My first reaction was shock, especially when they said it was twins.
