Meet The Real Band Of Brothers: Three Siblings Fight For Country In Afghanistan At The Same Time — The Daily Mail

Three brothers are risking their lives while serving on the front line together after they were all posted to Afghanistan.

Phillip, 25, Daniel, 23, were poand Matthew Baldwin, 22, are all fighting the Taliban in the war-torn country.

Phillip is a Lance Corporal in the Duke of Lancaster’s 2nd Battalion and is stationed in Camp Bastion, Daniel is an acting corporal in the RAF, working in communications in Kandahar, while Matthew is a Royal Marine in 40 Commando, posted to Sangin.

New U.S. Long Range Air To Surface Missile Given One More Chance

U.S. Air Force Says Lockheed Must Fix JASSM Issues — Reuters

WASHINGTON, May 15 (Reuters) – Lockheed Martin Corp’s (LMT.N) Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) program may be discontinued if the next round of testing this summer does not go well, a top Air Force official said on Friday.

“I think that if this next round of missiles does not perform well, that it will not be positive for the program,” David Van Buren, acting assistant Air Force secretary for acquisition, told reporters when asked how long the Air Force would maintain funding for the program despite years of technical problems.

He said performance on the program had not met the Air Force’s expectations and it was essential that the missile perform better on tests scheduled for late summer.

Using a fungus to stop malaria

A Tanzanian health institute is testing the use of a fungus to stop the spread of malaria. The Daily News Leonard Mwakalebla reports on the research going on at the IFAKARA Health institute.

IFAKARA Health Institute (IHI) has embarked on research experiment of infecting mosquitoes with fungus with view to killing the insect and subsequently combat malaria disease.
