SEAL Pleads Not Guilty In Iraq Detainee Case
The arraignment for Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class (SEAL) Jonathan Keefe, the last of the three SEALs who were slapped with charges based on a complaint by suspected terrorist Ahmed Hashim Abed to be arraigned, has been conducted. As expected, Keefe entered a plea of ‘not guilty’.
The arraignment was conducted in a military court on Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. His plea of ‘not guilty’ to charges of dereliction of duty and making a false official statement was entered by Keefe through his lawyer, Greg McCormack. A trial was originally scheduled for January 26; McCormack, however, requested for and has been granted a continuance, which resulted in the postponement of the trail to April 6 of next year.
