Each year Christmas-loving Alex Goodwind has one aim: To make his house the most festive home in Britain.
The ho-ho homeowner attracts people from miles around and has also raised thousands of pounds for charity with his dazzling Yuletide illumination
One visitor to the Longford Road spectacle in Melksham, Wiltshire, said: ‘To me, it’s as good as Blackpool or Las Vegas – I come every year and the house never loses its shine.’
This year, goodwilled Mr Goodwind, who now has competition from neighbours, spent a £3,000 on new fairy lights.
And the total stock of gaudy festive fixtures that cover his terraced home are with worth a massive £30,000.
But it does come at a cost – and a big one.
Last year his electricity bill was £750 – nearly double what the average family spends for a YEAR.
But to Mr Goodwind it’s worth every penny.
